Facility Reviews
The pool is new (it opened in 2005) and has good, clean water. It's often quiet, unless there's a club session. Lane swimming is available in the morning and at other times during the day. The changing facilities and showers are not great, but it's not a serious problem.
The changing rooms aren’t cleaned as often as they should be and there should be a ‘no shoe policy’ in the changing rooms as there is always a muddy river flowing through them. It gets horrendously busy at the weekends.
The pool is rather warm for training - nearer 30ºC? During the early morning lane swim, they set-up three double-width lanes in the six lane pool. It would be so much more effective if there were six lanes! Swimming in the fast lane means you are constantly moving in and out, overtaking other swimmers. If set up with six lanes, it would enable folks to swim in the correct speed for them. It's a frustrating swim in the only decent pool in the area!
