Swimmers Guide contains the only international, descriptive directory of publicly-accessible, full-size, year-round swimming pools available. There is no resource available in any format with as many swimming pool listings or as much information about each swimming pool as you'll find on this Web site.
This 179th monthly update of the database since May, 1996, lists 18,793 facilities with 20,107 full-size, year-round swimming pools in 10,775 cities and towns in 168 countries.

There's also a section called "ADD A SWIMMNG POOL" where you can send information for additions to the database.
Each section is reached by clicking on the hyper-text links found in the WEB SITE INDEX at the top of this page, which is repeated at the top of the first page of each sub-section.
On this site you will find no large graphic files, no frames, no animated or musical downloads, and no pop-ups.
If you write to us, the only thing you'll ever receive as a result is a thank you note or, perhaps, a follow-up question. Nobody else will ever get your e-mail address (or any other information about you) from us unless it's a part of the information contained in a listing - which means you asked us to put it there or you've published it on another Web site.

In our many years of traveling, we were never able to find a single, half-decent, half-way reliable resource for finding swimming pools away from home. (Or near home, either, for that matter.) So we've set out to be something of a Google for swimming pools. In our spare time, we search the 'Net for information about places to swim around the world, catalog what we find, add it to the database, and share it with the world.
Taking whatever we can find on the 'Net, together with what other swimmers have sent us, we've compiled the most comprehensive swimming pool-finding resource ever created. Does that sound boastful? In a word: "Yes"; but it's also absolutely true!

If the information in an existing listing is not current, could be clearer or needs some amplification - send us a note to suggest changes. We've put e-mail links at the bottom of every page on this site - please feel free to use them. We try to reply to reply to every e-mail message we receive.

Nobody hates junk mail (in any form) more than we do, and we doubt that there are many people who object to the techniques of some Web site promoters to collect information about their site visitors more than we. So here's our commitment to you:
If you write to us, neither your identity nor your e-mail address will ever be revealed to anyone else, unless you specifically request it. We do save the e-mail addresses of our correspondents, but only for personal communications on a computer that is protected behind a firewall. That computer is not connected to the server that hosts the site.
While we do everything we can to ensure that your privacy is protected while visiting our site, we include more than 29,000 hypertext links to other sites - those of the facilities we list, various aquatic sports clubs, several commercial map sites, and many other Internet resources that we think may be helpful. We have not investigated the privacy policies of those sites, most of which will be far less favorable than our own.
We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Web site. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. When you place your mouse over a hypertext link on any of our pages, you can tell where the link goes by looking at the bottom bar of your Web browser.
