Notes:
|
Weekday mornings and afternoons after 2 P.M. portions of the pool may be roped-off for instrucitonal classes, leaving only 17 metres available for lane swimming. As this may not be apparent from the pool's published schedule, a call in advance is recommended. There is also a large, warmer, leisure pool with flumes for the kids. Lockers require a £1.00 coin, which is returned.

Reviews:

A great pool to swim in. Wide lanes (usually only four to swim in; slow, medium, fast, and a lane for children, others, etc. not swimming laps) and a good cool temperature. The leisure pool attracts kids away from the lap pool. Showers are good. The changing area is horribly hot – by the time you are dressed you will be dripping with sweat. Adult lap swimming from 6.30 AM on Tues. and Thurs. and from 7AM on Mon., Wed., and Fri. – finishing at 8.45 AM all days.
If you disagree with this review, click HERE. If we can fit your comments into this section, we will - "different strokes for different folks" is particularly applicable to the swimming community.

Oliver Merrington's www.lidos.org.uk has an extensive list of "lidos" (that's British for "outdoor swimming pools"). If you're looking for a place to swim in the U.K. that's not under roof in the summer, www.lidos.org.uk should fill the bill.
