Facility Reviews
I like the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre because it has two slides, a wave pool, and a standard pool. The slides are fun, but children under seven are not allowed to slide alone.
I love this facility! Every time I visit, I look forward to swimming my lengths here. I love that there is no chlorine, there is lane swimming available from 6 AM to 10 PM (so I can choose when I swim), and there is such a congenial atmosphere. It's a facility well used and well managed. [November, 2013]
There are usually two lanes reserved for lane swimmers, although at some times only one lane may be available. Also, people who come for the water aerobics classes often like to come into the lanes to "practice swimming" before the class, so it's not smart to plan a concerted workout then. Best to check the schedule and, if possible, plan to come after the classes are over, when the pool clears out considerably. There's a swim shop selling a wide range of swimming gear on premises. The staff are knowledgeable and able to give sound advice about products meeting your needs. [December, 2013]
