|A downtown no-frills "character" place, refreshingly different from slick health clubs. Attracts everyone from executives to street kids. It's an old YWCA, a good pool for drilling and practicing flip turns, due to being so small, but not so good for along swim. It's seldom crowded and has long lap sessions in the middle of the day. The lifeguards don't put up lane lines, so you pick your space and stick to it. Phone first as the schedule changes and they hold kids' swimming camps in summer.
