Facility Reviews
THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!! A must if you're a swimmer. Not only does it have a decent lap pool, albeit only 25 meters, it has a circular walking pool around the perimeter of the entire complex that must be at least 300 meters; I was able to swim as though it was an Endless Pool! Not only that, it has a wave pool, a tunneled slide-pool for kids, two hidden Jaccuzis®, and a hot waterfall, where you can let the hot water pound your tired shoulder muscles. The facility also has a gym, a massage machines for hands and feet, a full-body vibrator, and an assortment vending machines for hot and cold drinks and food. It's a multi story complex and it's on my return list, even though I got caught in a 6.2 earthquake, while staying in the area.
Westerners: Be aware that there are rules that visitors should be mindful of when swimming in Japan: Don't bring thongs into the swimming pool. Take off your swim watch. Forget the waterproof iPod shuffle, heart rate wrist bands, etc. Also, don't forget that there are 10-minute "mandatory rest periods" every hour or so, when the guard blows a whistle and everybody has to stand around waiting to return to the water. It's all about purity, conformity, and group consciousness.
