Facility Notes
The facility then known as the Bexley Swimming Centre closed in April, 2014, to make way for a new Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre, which opened in January, 2017. In addition to the pools described, there is also a 30º, indoor splash pad. The renaming honors the individual who spearheaded the movement to update the ageing Bexley facilities.
Facility Reviews
The new facility's 50m pool is water polo compliant. It and the 25 metre indoor pool are heated and open year-round. There’s also a splash pad for kids, a very well-equipped gym, and a café.
I have loved swimming here since it re-opened. The outdoor pool is really deep and, though there are usually two lanes available for recreational swimming, it is really only competent swimmers who can do so. What the re-developed pool misses out on is an extensive shallow “play pool” for younger children. What they tend to do is cluster around the accessibilty ramp in the indoor pool, which clogs it up for people who NEED it.
Still, it’s a great place for lappers and for combining a gym and swim visit.

I loved swimming here so much that I'm going to try to live nearby. The outdoor pool is great; even on a cold day it's OK once you are in the water. It's very clean - apart from occasional leaves. There's a café, plenty of parking, a friendly and helpful staff, and new, modern facilities.
