Facility Reviews
There are also five outdoor tubs and pools, one with a waterslide. Admission includes lockable locker, but many of them are broken. A sign says if none available, valuables can be checked with the staff at the front desk - decidedly inconvenient, but reassuring. Shoes must be taken off on entry to the locker room and a shower, nude, with attention to the head, hands, armpits, crotch, feet must be taken, as diagrams explain, and this is serious.
No swim cap is needed. There's one set of backstroke flags, a seldom noted detail.
A large class of exercising adults filled the pool while I was swimming, but they stayed out of my way, humorously unobtrusive, until I got the idea to move to another part of the pool.
Swarms of adolescents can make the locker room chaotic, as is usual for groups of persons their age, but they cover every place one could possibly sit with backpacks and baskets of garments. I applied the remedy of stacking the baskets, and the adult Icelanders must have approved, because they, as well as I, sat in the spaces opened up thereby.
