Facility Notes
Before COVID, the community center was open to out of town visitors, as well as residents on a day-pass basis. When COVID hit, the admission policies were tightened to limit access to Warren/Centerline/Sterling Heights residents only and daily admission access was dropped in favor of monthly or annual memberships.
The pool is L-shaped and could be configured with five 25-yard lanes, but apparently no longer is; the community center flyer advertises only the three, 23-yard lanes.
Pool hours are 8 AM to 2 PM and 4 to 8 PM, weekdays, and 8 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. The pool is closed except for swim lessons on Sundays. [June, 2022]
Facility Reviews
This new pool is not good for lap swimmers - it is geared more to kids and families. The Warren Veteran's Pool was far better for lap swimming.
I disagree, the new lap pool is VERY good for lap swimmers; everyone is polite; they have great aerobics, a really nice lazy river water walk for seniors (and adults), very attentive lifeguards, and great hours!
The pool is L-shaped so the lanes can go in either of two directions. Most often there are only three lanes that go in the direction without backstroke flags - and one of the three has a ladder so, turns are not possible. I heard that if you go early in the morning they have five lanes going in the other direction, but for those who swim after work you get only the three lane option.
