Important Notice Please Read - CLICK HERE

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the more than 20,000+ facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times; we cannot tell you about the availability and cost of swimming lessons; we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their access policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include email addresses and hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in each listing is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editors become aware of a change but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about three years to complete; in many places, prices will change two or three times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. Please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with your area and visiting for the first time.

To our English users: For reasons described in the FAQ, county names shown the listings in England are the cities' and towns' historic counties, not necessarily the counties they are assigned to now.

Facility Reviews

When I went, it was too crowded; the entire pool was set up with circle swimming in the lanes. A real nightmare. [March, 2013]
I just got back from Luzern and swam here. It is crowded, two to four people per wide lane, but you get to swim in a new, clean, indoor pool. The whole pool is dedicated to lap swimming - just pick a lane that looks like it's your speed and hop in. I made the mistake of swimming in the very slow lane (it was empty when I got in) and the other swimmers kicked me out and into another lane. LOL!
Great facility - lockers, showers, large lukewarm Jacuzzi®, and cafeteria.
My hotel gave me a discount booklet that included a small discount into the pool.
Bus 20 from the rail station drops you off next to the building. [October, 2013]
This is state-of-the-art facility has an incredible view of snow-covered Mt. Pilatus through a floor-to-ceiling glass wall on the deck.
Like many other European facilities, Hallenbad Allmend does not share "community" swim equipment as is done in most places in the US - you need to bring your own.
Be careful on exiting the locker room, the cleaning lady will chide you if you wear shoes in a section that is off limits to street shoes - but there is no sign :) [May, 2014]
