Facility Reviews
The pool is in the basement of the Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church's "Family Life Center" -- basically an indoor gymnasium/classroom center behind a large white church on Peachtree Rd. Only lanes 1 and 2 were lined, lanes 3 and 4 were open to each other for programmed water activities. It was about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown, depending on how many lights I caught. I paid $10 to swim and $1 for use of a towel each visit. The facilities were clean and there is a locker room in the men's room which you pass through en route to the pool. On the first day I went during lap swim and there were only 4 of us so I did not share a lane. On the second day, I came later during "open swim" hours and still did not have to share a lane. The pool is as described. The only downside is that it was really warm. I would guess 84º - 85º degrees. I saw several very elderly folks doing water aerobics or something which is probably why it was so warm. I had to take more rest between my sets to recover, but it beat the cold, short outdoor pool at my hotel.
