Facility Notes
The dimensions for Pool 1 are based on takeoffs using the Google Maps distance measurement tool.
The pool was built as a municipal facility in 1929 and closed in 1989, as an apartment block was to be built on the site. The apartment project was never begun, however, and the pool sat empty until the property was leased to the hotel operator who refurbished it for reopening in May, 2014.
The hotel operates Club Molitor, which grants access to the pools and other health club facilities to its members.
In addition to hotel guests and Club Molitor members, the pools are also available to clients when they purchase at least one hour costing at least €250.00 of spa services. Those were the terms of an offer valid from June 1 through September 30, 2017. We are willing to bet that a similar offer will be put in place after the expiration of this one, but there are no guaranties.
Facility Reviews
Rating: 9 on a scale of 10.
This is a wonderful facility. The old Molitor pool served the City of Paris for many years and was a romantic hangout for the Western side of Paris. The new hotel is built around both old pool shapes, with rooms looking onto the large pool. The long pool encourages lounging and playing but has lane markings and is a great feeling swim. In the outdoor pool, one, long lap lane is marked and usable; there is a divider across the pool at the 35-meter mark for the rest of the lanes. The inside, 33-meter pool has a cathedral atmosphere, unfortunately, the lanes dividers are ropes. It's spotless. Nothing is too much trouble. There's a very romantic feel to swimming here. Non-hotel guest users belong to a private fitness club. But the pool is lightly used for laps. That one pool will always be open is guaranteed.
