Facility Notes
This location was formerly the home of the YMCA of Central Louisiana. The pool is open during all of the YWCA's open hours, with two lanes set aside for lap swimming at all times.
Facility Reviews
They just renovated the pool and repainted it. There are always two lanes available for swimming and three available for recreation… and in the warmer pool there are water aerobic classes that you can participate in as well.

This is a very old pool with a very shallow, shallow end. I could do a flip turn but it was difficult/comical. The water was not crystal clear, though I do believe it was clean. The pool was shared between a couple of designated lap lanes and water aerobics classes in the remaining area, and it was my impression that this is often the case. The staff was extremely friendly and the other swimmers were warm and welcoming, but the pool itself was sad. It was hard not to make connections between the shameful history of restricted pools in the south and this very worn and repaired pool where a majority of the patrons were black.
