Facility Reviews
This is the most basic of municipal pools. It's a little hard to find, as it is at the end of a pedestrian-only street off the main road (Avenida Dr. Fleming) in La Algaba. Use a GPS system, park, and walk around a bit -- you'll find it. But, when you do, you may be a tad disappointed. On our November visit the water was several degrees on the warm side for distance swimming, probably 83º or 84ºF (28º or 29ºCº). The problem was the air temperature: The pool is under a large canvass enclosure that was closed up tight on a sunny day, so the greenhouse effect was in full swing. The vestuarios (changing rooms) are very basic and the lockers have tiny hasps that'll fit only small suitcase locks. It wasn't crowded. Two of the five lanes are a bit interesting to swim in because they have water jets on the bottom aimed straight up and make a "boil" surface current.
