Facility Notes
The university campus is a landmark in this community just outside of Quebec City. We're told this is just about the best place to swim in the Quebec City area.
Facility Reviews
A world-class facility with 10 lanes in a 50m pool, including a diving well. If you are in the Quebec City area and are looking for a great pool, take the drive to St. Foy. It's an impressive facility.
The facility remains in excellent condition and was relatively uncrowded on a Friday afternoon and Monday morning. Pull-buoys and kickboards are available; a swim cap is required.
This is truly a world-class facility. I came here for a Masters swimming competition in the "Olympic Pool" (the 10 lane x 50 meter, Pool 1), but also got to swim in Pool 2 for warmups and cooldowns. Both are meticulously maintained, super clean, with lots and lots of lifeguards.
They did enforce a "swimming cap required" in Pool 2, which was kind of odd since there was a large contingent of divers using the platforms and obviously not wearing caps. Maybe divers are normally cleaner people than swimmers :) ?? Just bring a cap.
One other thing to note is that they will sometimes setup Pool 2 (8 lane x 50 meters) widthwise for lap swimming and the lifeguards told me the widths are 21.5 meters. Lots of synchronized pace clocks, and everything you need and this fantastic facility for a great swim.
