Facility Notes
The Main Pool (Pool 1) has an adjustable floor that is raised to create a sports arena from November through March. Pool 2 is operated year-round. Pool 3 is on the same operating schedule as Pool 1. There is also a gym with weights, cardio etc. available for a separate charge.
Facility Reviews
Absolutely fantastic! A world class facility. The main pool is 100m or more and is usually divided into two 50m pools. The main pool is in a stadium with bleachers on either side. There is a secondary pool (25m) focused on families, that is divided for lap usage and good when there is an event at the main pool. There is a large wading pool for children, and a whirlpool/hydro therapy area. The lane traffic and usage in all pools is well disciplined.
At Pool 2, the deeper side of the 25m "sub pool", has lanes designated for slower and faster swimmers. All circle swim and passing is OK. There are also dedicated lanes for dive/sprint, fins only, and paddles only. This may be the only public pool that allows hard paddles as opposed to gloves only. They rent hard paddles (Strokemasters™ type) for ¥100. All the kids' teams seem to swim here and somehow all day. Best time to go seems to be around 3 - 5 PM. I did not find the water so warm compared to the usual 30ºC+ (86ºF) temps normally kept in public pools. [May, 2013]
