Facility Notes
There is also a 25y, 6 lane, outdoor seasonal pool at this location.
In addition to the indoor and outdoor pools described above, the Wilson Y is also home to The Kathryn M. York Adapted Aquatics Center, with a 20y x 33f, shallow pool with a 42f wheelchair ramp. "Katie's Pool" is considered the largest public therapy pool in the southeast. The programs are fee-based and open to both Family Y members and non-members. An initial evaluation is required for use.
Facility Reviews
The facility was undergoing significant renovation when I visited in mid-2004. The pool is large L-shaped as I recall. The locker area was a bit dated and run down, but the pool itself was fine.
They have built a whole new facility on the same block as the old one… you can't miss it. They have indoor and outdoor pools and up-to-date locker rooms with family changing rooms, as well. All this has been since 2006.
