Facility Reviews
The pool is beautiful, but it's really hard to time lap swimming there. They are always closing off some of the lanes for a swim team or opening up part of the pool for recreational swimmers and you are constantly being asked to share lanes or move to another lane. Sharing lanes wouldn't be so bad except there’s no speed designation. The faster swimmers can be rude and glare at you for slowing them down. The slow swimmers act like they don't even know they are blocking you. It was miserable trying to lap swim here and I switched to the MJCC down the street, which is much less crowded and has a nicer facility. But I really like this pool and it's a shame they try to use the one big pool for too many activities during peak lap swim hours. There can be times when it is fairly empty like during the day or late at night. You can try to figure out when this is - but it's a lot of work. Multi-swim passes are available and do not expire. Bring your own towel and lock. The showers have shut off timers; you have to constantly restart them to get a complete shower. [February, 2013]
