Important Notice Please Read - CLICK HERE

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the more than 20,000+ facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times; we cannot tell you about the availability and cost of swimming lessons; we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their access policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include email addresses and hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in each listing is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editors become aware of a change but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about three years to complete; in many places, prices will change two or three times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. Please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with your area and visiting for the first time.

To our English users: For reasons described in the FAQ, county names shown the listings in England are the cities' and towns' historic counties, not necessarily the counties they are assigned to now.

Facility Reviews

This is an extremely well-used facility. The nine-lane, 50m pool is about 78ºF (26ºC), and the six-lane, 25m pool a bit warmer, 80ºF (27ºC) or so. The pools are quite clean, the shower/changing areas so-so. At 4:30 PM on a Tuesday, both pools were packed with teams, lessons, and lap swimmers. No lanes were designated in any way, so determining where to swim required observation and trial-and-error. [I was (nicely) kicked out of my first 25m lane by a club, ending up (surprisingly) with my own 25m lane.] At 10:30 AM on a Thursday, things were calmer. Most of the 50m pool was free for lap swimming; the 25m pool was taken over by a senior program. I had a 50m lane to myself for most of my 40-minute swim. Lanes are not speed segregated, and lane etiquette seems spotty, at best. Pull buoys and kickboards are available poolside. The lockers secure with a refunded €1 coin. Swim caps are required. The main facility entrance is poorly marked. You can follow up your lap swimming with a dip in the ocean, one block away.
