Facility Notes
The hotel has several pools, all but one free-form shaped. The one described above looks like two, more or less rectangular pools placed next to each other, connected, but slightly offset. Owing to cutouts on the sides, laps can be swum in sections 25y long (north/south across the two rectangles), 30y long (east/west in the northen rectangle), or any of several other, shorter lengths.
The pools are closed from the beginning of November to the beginning of March.
Facility Reviews
I swam at Luxor's pool in mid-April, 2006. I went at about 10 A.M. There were lots of kids, making it difficult to concentrate on my workout. Also, the pool is very shallow, making flip turns difficult - and I’m only 5'3" tall. The temperature was OK; I estimate the length to be about 25 meters.
