Facility Notes
There is also a 50m x 25m, 10 lane, 0m to 3m adjustable depth (the depth is usually set at 1.2m), indoor, heated, 28ºC (82ºF) pool at this location. The pool has a bulkhead to create two 25m, 8 lane tanks and is converted to an ice skating rink from September through May.
And, in addition, there is a 25m x 22m, 5m depth diving pool with 1m and 3m diving boards, and 3m, 5m, 7.5m, and 10m diving platforms that is also available only from May to September. It, too, is converted to an ice rink during the rest of the year.
Facility Reviews
We visited on October 1, 2018. The 50 meter pool was divided width-wise into two 25m pools (no bulkhead), one with lanes for teaching, the other for lap swimming. The lap lanes were all circle swim with only one swimmer in most at 11:30 AM, when we started. Swim equipment is permitted, with buoys and boards available on deck. The other usual Japanese rules/customs apply: cap required, no shoes in locker room, shower thoroughly before swimming, only covered tattoos allowed. The pool is a little hard to access because it is part of a large sports park and taxis drop off at other end. Best to take Hankyu “subway” line, instead. It was one of the best workout experiences I’ve had anywhere!
