Important Notice Please Read - CLICK HERE

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the more than 20,000+ facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times; we cannot tell you about the availability and cost of swimming lessons; we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their access policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include email addresses and hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in each listing is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editors become aware of a change but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about three years to complete; in many places, prices will change two or three times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. Please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with your area and visiting for the first time.

To our English users: For reasons described in the FAQ, county names shown the listings in England are the cities' and towns' historic counties, not necessarily the counties they are assigned to now.

Facility Reviews

A large, clean, professional, "no frills" training pool, a five-minute walk from the heart of Halifax. If you can avoid the Trojans (who practice in the evenings), you will probably get a lane to yourself. Lots of room, lots of lanes, a really decent schedule… and cheaper than the Dalplex!
If you find yourself in Halifax, this is a great choice over a hotel pool. Friendly and not crowded on a Sunday afternoon.

You have to make it up the big hill if on foot, but it's not that far from the waterfront. I was advised the lockers are changing to "bring your own lock", this month. The pool was configured as twin 25 meter pools when I visited.

This is a clean, nice pool. It's not new, but it is perfectly serviceable and much cheaper than the Dalplex. Long course (50 metre) swimming is only available on some days but, when the pool is divided there are many lanes, although they are not categorized by speeds.

There are three locker rooms: male, female, and gender-neutral. Bring your own lock. The female locker room has outlets to plug in a hair dryer if you need and also has a spinner to help dry your bathing suit.
