Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the more than 20,000+ facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times; we cannot tell you about the availability and cost of swimming lessons; we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their access policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include email addresses and hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in each listing is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editors become aware of a change but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about three years to complete; in many places, prices will change two or three times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. Please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with your area and visiting for the first time.

To our English users: For reasons described in the FAQ, county names shown the listings in England are the cities' and towns' historic counties, not necessarily the counties they are assigned to now.

Facility Reviews

The strangest pool underneath the Montparnasse tower; cold 60s architecture and quite filthy.
I didn't find this pool filthy. The water was way too hot (86º - 87ºF.) and because the 33m pool was closed, the 25m pool was crowded. Doing laps was like an obstacle course. The air inside was a bit close; it smelled like fresh caulk. The staff was unhelpful. They assured me they would be open on Sunday, but it was (surprise!) closed. They did post listings for other pools, and I went to one.
When I went, this pool was clean and not too hot. Both pools were open. On a weekday, the pools were busy at opening time (7 AM) but much less so on Saturday.

I'm not sure what the bad reviews are for. The pool was very clean - I could see to the other end - and it was deep enough for diving into the lane. There was the usual chaos with slow v. fast swimmers in the lanes, but there is room to pass. The showers and lockers are old, but clean (you don't need to bring a lock); it's in a central location; has good hours; and is cheap.

The water was immaculate, clean as could be. I'll be back.
[September, 2017]
Both pools were in use for lap swimming when I went, but the lanes were not speed or stroke designated. Most of the slower swimmers were in the smaller pool. There were six or seven swimmers per lane in the 33m pool, so it was a bit crowded and there was quite a bit of passing going on. The pool was open only two hours today (Monday), which might have contributed to the crowding.

The pool has electronic-coded lockers, large locker rooms with small changing rooms; all facilities are unisex. The pool and facilities were all clean and the staff was helpful.
