Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the more than 20,000+ facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times; we cannot tell you about the availability and cost of swimming lessons; we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their access policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include email addresses and hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in each listing is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editors become aware of a change but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about three years to complete; in many places, prices will change two or three times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. Please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with your area and visiting for the first time.

To our English users: For reasons described in the FAQ, county names shown the listings in England are the cities' and towns' historic counties, not necessarily the counties they are assigned to now.

Note: You cannot pay at the facility - you have to get a form, take it to a bank (one of the most common in Bogotá) and pay there; they stamp the form and you give it to the folks at the pool.

Facility Reviews

Beautiful, modern, and clean as a whistle - people cleaning constantly. The place is enormous, and has an amazing view from the pool deck over a park to some mountains. Excellent 50 m competition pool and separate 25m lap pool. Bogotá is high-altitude,so swimming here is very challenging if you are used to swimming at sea level. The men's locker room attendants are women, which was a bit awkward (they sit in view of the shower stalls), so wear your towel at all times, if you are shy.
This facility has two Olympic-size swimming pools, unfortunately however, they have arranged the lanes widthwise (25m) so that you cannot swim 50m laps. Nobody who works there seems to understand that the pool length is only 25m; it is not possible to swim 50m.

The complex is located off Carrera 68 which is quite busy. It is a large place so allow plenty of time to get to the pools from the entry point. If coming by car you need to take a ticket at the entry which you present to another checkpoint further on. You can then enter the carpark via another checkpoint and receive another ticket. This ticket with your swimming ticket allows you free parking but only after you have presented it at several different places in order to receive another ticket so that you can leave- got it?

To swim there, you need to buy a one hour slot online or you can go there and purchase a ticket from a machine in the main office which you will need to find. You also need a passport or ID. You then go to find the specific pool and present your ticket at the entry. It is an overly complicated and time-consuming exercise and you should allow at least 30 minutes to get there and into the pool. Also, the swimming slots start on the hour and half hour, so you may need to wait to start your allocated slot. Further bureaucracy awaits you at the change room, where you need to present yet another ticket at entry to the pool in exchange for a wristband. Lockers use a 500 peso coin which is non-refundable. Someone will open and close your locker, another person escort you through the shower, and another will tell you which lane to swim in - although nobody really seemed to care which lane you actually use.

The pool is clean but I found it a little too warm. It was not too busy and I had a lane to myself. Overall it took me about 90 minutes in and out for a 25 minute swim, so maybe better to go there for a long session.
