Facility Reviews
At 8 AM half the pool was for "rec swimming" and half formed a very wide lane in which elders swam a slow circular pattern breaststroke. A freestyler, I chose to swim between the sides of the circle until politely asked to swim in the adjacent area, as I was disturbing the breaststrokers. The pool is very enclosed - slightly claustrophobic. It felt shorter than 25m; more like 20m. It pays to check the schedule; at times the entire pool is devoted school use. Not wonderful, but OK.
One of its advantages of this pool is that it is open when many other public facilities are closed.

The tiles in the pool are uneven and the water is too cold.

[January, 2015]
On January 13, the pool temperature was 29.3ºC (84.7ºF), which, in my opinion, is at the upper end of the range for serious swimming.
The water was choppy, as lanes are separated by ropes, rather than proper wave suppression barriers, which is unfortunately the norm with most council owned (but privately operated and exploited) leisure facilities in the UK.
The pool seems rather dingy due to limited natural light.
