Stadtbad Wilmersdorf I [Closed for renovations until September, 2019]

Important Notice Please Read - CLICK HERE

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the more than 20,000+ facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times; we cannot tell you about the availability and cost of swimming lessons; we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their access policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include email addresses and hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in each listing is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editors become aware of a change but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about three years to complete; in many places, prices will change two or three times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. Please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with your area and visiting for the first time.

To our English users: For reasons described in the FAQ, county names shown the listings in England are the cities' and towns' historic counties, not necessarily the counties they are assigned to now.

Facility Reviews

It was difficult to maintain a good pace during the open swim period because the lanes were not roped off and swimmers could not follow a good path. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience. The staff was very helpful and patient with my poor language skills.
This, unfortunately, is one of the worst options in the area. Very crowded with one lane (mixed speeds) only available late at night. Diving is open even if the pool is full.
The pool has two defined sections: one, with two separated lanes, which is often reserved for classes; the other, comprised of four merged lanes that can be chaotic and slow. Two individual lanes designated with a sign “sportif” are reserved for lap swimming. Although the sign also indicates “backstroke” it is basically disregarded. I swam at 10 AM and found lane #2 to be relatively empty, enabling me to swim at a fast pace, or to pass slower swimmers (which is acceptable there) to maintain my speed. Swim caps are optional. There are chaise lounges at the poolside which is a nice amenity.

The admission ticket is used to enter through the turnstile and must be used to exit the facility. Lockers use either a €1 or €2 coin that is returned after their use. While not a requirement, there are private changing booths in each aisle.
