Facility Notes
We've seen photos of the pools here, and they're both beautiful and unusual. They're both oval shaped at one end with "grand staircases" leading into the shallow end of an aquamarine tiled pool. The pool halls are ringed with Greek columns. Built in 1913 - 1914, they're probably not very good for serious swimming (those staircases can be a real bother, and the oval shape doesn't help, either), but if you have some spare time to just look, we think it will be worth the trip.
Facility Reviews
The entrance hall, pool, and sauna are wonderful - mosaics, with galleries and gargoyles. The locker rooms and showers are not spacious, but clean. The use of hair dryers is extra (bring your own - the sockets are free).
There is a non-swimmer section at one end of the pool and because of the shape it is not possible to separate lanes for circle swimming. The guard watched the playing children though, and we were able to use a lane undisturbed.
