Important Notice Please Read - CLICK HERE

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the more than 20,000+ facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times; we cannot tell you about the availability and cost of swimming lessons; we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their access policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include email addresses and hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in each listing is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editors become aware of a change but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about three years to complete; in many places, prices will change two or three times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. Please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with your area and visiting for the first time.

To our English users: For reasons described in the FAQ, county names shown the listings in England are the cities' and towns' historic counties, not necessarily the counties they are assigned to now.

Facility Reviews

This is a community pool located within the Minato section of Tokyo, maintained by the Minato City authority. We visited this pool on Tuesday, September 25 at 11:30 AM and Friday, September 28 at 9:00 AM. Both times there were two one-way lanes, two circle lanes (one faster, one slower), and the rest of the main pool set aside for walkers (there’s a ramp) and random swimming. I swam in the faster lane. My wife in the slower one or the one-ways. The pool was uncrowded at 11:30 AM. I had the fast lane mostly to myself. At the earlier time I shared with one to three others. Unusually for Japan, pool equipment is allowed. The rules (in English) allow pull buoys, kick boards, and paddles. Buoys and boards are available on deck. The lane set up may vary at times, but those descriptions were only in Japanese. The other usual Japanese rules apply: remove shoes before entering locker room, wear a swim cap, tattoos must be completely covered. The staff spoke limited English, but were helpful.
