Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the more than 20,000+ facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times; we cannot tell you about the availability and cost of swimming lessons; we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their access policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include email addresses and hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in each listing is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editors become aware of a change but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about three years to complete; in many places, prices will change two or three times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. Please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with your area and visiting for the first time.

To our English users: For reasons described in the FAQ, county names shown the listings in England are the cities' and towns' historic counties, not necessarily the counties they are assigned to now.

Facility Reviews

The street it's in leads out of Place du Jeu de Balle not far from Midi (South) Station. This is an oldish pool with lanes for lap swimming. It can get crowded with children over weekends but one can still swim in the middle lanes.
It's an old pool (built in 1949) but it has its charm. The staff is very helpful, even with language barriers. Using the changing rooms is definitely an experience worth trying. The pool gets busy during lunch time, but it's OK for lap swim. Swim caps are required and available for purchase if you don't bring one with you.

A cute, older pool, with a nice view of Brussels. It's in easy walking distance of the Midi train station and surrounding hotels. The cheerful staff speaks French and Dutch, although you'll manage if you don't speak either language. The pool and changing area are on the third floor. There aren't any lockers, but you'll be assigned to a changing room with two doors. You lock one door and your stuff inside and exit the other side. Remember your number and the attendant will let you back into your changing stall after you've completed your swim. If you plan to shower afterward, bring your shampoo on deck with you as the showers are on the pool deck. The facility had plenty of kickboards, buoys, and noodles.

Current hours are:
  • Monday - Thursday: 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM;
  • Friday: 7:30 AM to 8 PM;
  • Saturday: 7:30 AM to 5 PM;
  • Sunday: Closed.
On the Friday I was there, however, I was told the pool was closed from 2 to 4 PM, likely for a swim practice.
