Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the more than 20,000+ facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times; we cannot tell you about the availability and cost of swimming lessons; we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their access policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include email addresses and hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in each listing is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editors become aware of a change but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about three years to complete; in many places, prices will change two or three times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. Please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with your area and visiting for the first time.

To our English users: For reasons described in the FAQ, county names shown the listings in England are the cities' and towns' historic counties, not necessarily the counties they are assigned to now.

Facility Notes

The outdoor pool's laned section is used principally, but not exclusively, for lap swimming. Kickboards, pull buoys, and flotation belts are available.
The outdoor pool also has a children's play section with a mushroom fountain and corck-screw water slide. The connection between the two pools is a very small section near the ends. It's an unusual set-up.

Facility Reviews

The lanes are narrow, but most of the swimmers are pretty experienced. The water is heated, and there are two pools (one indoor, one outdoor), so at least there is a good selection of lanes and environments. I guess the only thing that's prohibitive about this place is that you have to be a YMCA member (which is somewhat pricey), and the hours are somewhat regulated as the pool is sometimes reserved for swim teams, lessons, and water aerobics. Other than that, it's a nice facility.
This Y is terrific: two, speed-organized, 25-yard pools (one indoors, one outdoors), free for members of other Ys.
