Facility Reviews
I went on a Monday at 10:30 AM and had the pool to myself, except for a lifeguard class that took up 3 lanes later on.
The pool is L-shaped with six lanes of 25 meters and another four lanes of 10 meters. The pool is striped and targeted, but the surface is pretty rough. It has lane lines, but any remaining buoys are disintegrating under the Caribbean sun. There are lots of equally sun-soaked kickboards and buoys for use. There were no pace clocks but there were some relics among the toys that may or may not work. The skimmer system needs some major love, and the surroundings are certainly not resort-like. There's no real locker room, just a changing room/bathroom combo, which is a bit rough, but clean.
Now, with all that said, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the water was clear and clean, so if you don’t want to miss a practice while on a cruise, it's worth the $8 entry fee (which covers access to the whole Y for the day) but keep in mind it’s a $20 taxi each way from the port, so you really need to want to work out to make this pay.
