Important Notice Please Read

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times or when Senior Aerobics classes are held; we cannot tell you about the availability or cost of swimming lessons; we cannot get you discounted admission to swim at any of them; and we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their admission policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites and Facebook pages, clickable email addresses, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in the site is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editor becomes aware of a change, but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about seven years to complete; in many places, prices will change four or five times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. (No, it's not a place for you to ask us questions. What we have in each listing is the latest news we have.)

Also, please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with the area and visiting for the first time. Just go to the Add a Pool section of the site, read the first page, then fill out the questionnaire.

Facility Reviews

This is an older but perfectly adequate facility. The staff had very limited English but were very friendly and had pre-printed information sheets in English on hand. The pool is on the lower level; buy a ticket from the machine, give to the attendant at the desk who gives you a key with a locker number. Remember to take your shoes off before entering the locker room. Find your locker, change, swim, dress, then give the ticket and key back to the attendant on the way out. (It's important to keep the ticket... I couldn't find mine on the way out, which caused quite a bit of confusion, gesturing, and multiple attempts at translation by well-intentioned but not helpful passers-by.) There were several people per lane in the morning on a weekday, but it was well organized; I chose the least crowded which involved two "one-way" lanes, i.e., swimming up one lane, crossing over, and then swimming back (which made it hard/impossible to flip turn but otherwise was fine.)
[July, 2017]
This is a nice facility - it's located on the basement level but there are large windows, so it doesn't feel like you're swimming in a "coffin". The water was warm but didn't feel as warm as some of the other community pools in Tokyo. There were four lanes for lap swimming and flip turns are permitted. In an Interesting twist, three of the lanes are marked as "no passing" while the fourth lane does allow passing. Smartwatches are allowed (they’re not in most Tokyo pools) but you have to have some sort of "protection guard" which I couldn't figure out.

The previous review mentioned that the attendant gives you a key for the locker. In my case, I purchased my ticket from the vending machine and the lockers required a ¥100 coin (which is returned, when you return the key). When you leave, you give the ticket, which you've saved, to the attendant, ostensibly to make sure that you haven't stayed beyond the allotted two hours.
