Facility Reviews
The pool has wide, long lanes, but no separation by speed. No place to stand; the water is about 18" (½m) below the rim with only handholds at the end of each lane. Afterwards, rinse, but don't remove your suit, (it's prohibited except in the changing booth.)
I never saw so many people in one lane, CHAOS…
When I went, the swimmers were pretty good in my lane; and it's recently been refurbished. A very positive experience.
The facility has extensive hours, so it is a safer bet that, when you go, it will be open. I went at 7:30 PM, and it was pretty crowded. They now have the lanes marked for speed, which helps, but there are plenty of clueless swimmers who are not in the correct lane. The water seemed about 79º/80ºF (26º/27ºC). If you go expecting lots of interruptions and choppy water, you will not be so disappointed. In this situation, the 33 meters helps get it done.

Rating: 6 on a scale of 10. This is a very busy pool. Thirteen swimmers in each of five lanes for hours. Quite a lot of slow swimming and avoiding other people - and the water does get choppy. Bring your own lock for the lockers.

This is an excellent pool with very "involved" lifeguards who forbid the use of fins, except in a pool so shallow they can't be used there; other swim aids are OK. The lifeguards spend much time in alcoves using cell phones, but are less unfriendly than lifeguards at many Italian pools. Lockers are provided; bring your own lock. No mandatory EKG signage in evidence. Long open hours. Convenient public transport.

A great experience. This is a grand, Fascist-era monument to sport, and almost overwhelming in scale. How many public pools have their own Wikipedia page (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piscina_Cozzi)?
Lap swimming is available all day, unlike many Italian public pools. The pool is too deep and long for classes or children! Contrary to earlier reviews, the lanes are clearly marked for speed and swimmers were very respectful of each other.
The locker rooms, which are enormous, were recently renovated and are of a much higher quality than those of any other European public pools I've used, although the showers are bare-bones.
The pool is close to the Repubblica Metro station.
