Facility Notes
As indicated in the "Facility Name" field of this listing, Chur is blessed with three, somewhat separate facilities in one location: The Traglufthalle shown above as "Pool 1" (this pool is also called the Freibad Obere Au in summer, when the inflatable dome is removed); the Hallenbad shown as "Pool 2"; and the Aquamarin Erlebnisbad, a collection of very warm (33º - 35ºC [91º - 95ºF]) leisure pools unsuitable for lap swimming, so not described in this listing.
The 50m pool is used primarily, but not exclusively, by schools and teams.
The diving equipment is located at the indoor, 25m pool.
If all that were not enough, the city has a second 50-meter, outdoor, seasonal swimming pool, the Freibad Sand, also known as "Badi Sand", located HERE. Approximately half of that pool is shallow and separated from the deeper side with a barrier; the remainder, although unstriped, is about 13-meters wide and has five starting blocks at one end.
