Facility Notes
The facility has free kick boards, pull-buoys, hand paddles, lifejackets, balls, etc. available for use. The use of masks, fins and snorkels is restricted to designated times.Public swimming is mostly short course (25m) but long course (50m) swimming is available 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. Fridays.
Facility Reviews
The pool was split into two 25m sections, each divided into double-wide lanes with signs on circle swimming and setting lane speeds based on 25m time. The water and facility were clean, the water somewhat cool, and the air temperate, with little noticeable humidity. Not crowded. During summer, hours are limited (7:30-8:30 AM, an hour or two at lunch, and an hour or two in afternoon on select days). No weekend hours. Bring a lock, soap and shampoo.
When I swam during an 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM session, one end of the pool was divided into double-wide lanes, the other end into single-wide, nominally speed-segregated lanes. The water temperature is great for vigorous lap swimming. The pool became very crowded within the first half-hour of the session, as opposed to the earlier review. I expect it is the difference between summer break and when students are on campus.
