Facility Reviews
One of the most crowded pools in the city - if not the country; the place is packed. Most of the time one or two lanes are closed for classes or family swims.
Most times, the pool is not particularly crowded, I have no idea where the first reviewer's idea came from.
At lunch the pool was not crowded. The 5th floor location and huge windows have great views. Seemed cooler than the 82º - 84º reported.
The users of the pool have evolved since it opened 11 years ago, and it is better run, so it is attracting more serious swimmers and it is less crowded. There are far fewer leisure swimmers than there used to be. A slight reduction in the usual water temperature was probably a big contributor to the improvement.

This may be the nicest indoor pool in Manhattan - six floors up, with floor-to-ceiling windows along two walls. I swim laps there three times a week. Usually, I share a lane with two or three other swimmers, occasionally with four, rarely with five. The locker facilities are excellent (bring your own lock). Guests a the Milburn hotel, nearby, have access to the JCC facilities. Great staff.

I love this pool! It's well-lit with views of the Upper West Side, and the acoustics are regulated. There's a second, smaller pool with a variable depth that's used for therapy and training

The pool is very clean and heavily used, especially for swim instruction; but it's not that crowded in the evenings.
