Facility Reviews
Located behind the Hôpital Belle-Isle and the Temple de la Garnison bell tower, the pool is a 12-minute walk from the Cathedral. While a sign indicated that proof of residence was required to qualify for the senior rate, it was given to me by request, even with my marginal French language skills. The stairs lead to the changing cabanas (men to the left). After changing into a swim suit (only tight-fitting ones are permitted), exit on the opposite side of the booth without street shoes. Lockers are located to the right and use a returnable €1 coin. The showers are down a flight of stairs at pool level.
Swim caps are required. This 25-meter pool has 5 lanes with no specific designation for type of stroke or speed. There does not seem to be any pool etiquette, although it is permissible to pass a slower swimmer. Glass brick walls allow a lot of natural light in the pool area.
