Facility Notes
This pool opened in the 1800's and for a while was the largest municipal pool in England. Many Victorian features make this a place full of atmosphere and character, such as men's and women's changing down either side of the pool, and little stairs into the pool instead of steps.
Facility Reviews
The pool has a very helpful and friendly staff and is very good for laps. Parking may be a bit difficult, especially on shopping days, but is near several main bus routes. There is a sports hall next door for badminton, etc.
The pool has a great social atmosphere but is also used by serious swimmers, water polo teams, and swimming clubs. There are a number of aqua classes, some for women only. The sports hall next door has three badminton courts and basketball rings. There is also a gym with CV and resistance equipment (inductions are free). [August, 2015]
