Facility Reviews
There are lane lines set up according to "slow, med, and fast". There are no lockers where you can use your own lock. There is a pay locker system for $2 that will hold a medium size bag. They also have blue totes to place your belongings in and you can take it on deck with you and set it at the end of your lane.
This is a large, indoor facility with a big recreational pool, an instructional pool, and the lap pool. The water quality is very good; the lap pool is kept at about 83ºF (28ºC). It was uncrowded on a weekday morning at 7:45.
The no. 1 and no. 2 buses take you to the pool from Queenstown. It's about a six to eight minute ride. Get off at the Frankton hub and walk around/across the golf course to the pool. Note: The bus will stop only if you signal the driver by waving (learned the hard way!).
