Facility Notes
The facility opened in June, 2010. The main pool has moveable bulkheads that permit configuration into a variety of lane length setups. There is also a 52f x 28f, 3½f - 4½f depth therapy pool.
From the pool's website: "Beginning Sat 5/28 [2022] through the summer season The Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center will be switching our competition pool over to long course on Saturday mornings from 8 AM to noon. The competition pool will be closed from noon - 1 PM each Saturday to rearrange the pool back to its "typical" short course set up."
As may be inferred from the note above, the pool normally operates in short course yards layout and usually with four to ten lanes reserved for lap swimming.
Facility Reviews
This is a great pool for lap swimming! The temperature is good, there are lots of lanes when set up for 25y, the facility is clean and very bright and spacious, and there are lots of digital timers mounted on the walls. I went during COVID19, and mitigations included no showers or lockers (changing room was open), no available equipment (kick boards etc.), required reservations, and access to Calvert County residents only. I was staying in Calvert County and used that address for my reservation system account.
