Facility Reviews
This is a fantastic facility with spacious locker rooms (bring your own lock), clean showers, swimsuit water extractor, and bottle-filling water fountains. The indoor pool is mostly for families and children; it includes water spouts and a slide. I was told that occasionally during very bad weather they may allow lap swimming in the indoor pool -- but now that I've swum in the outdoor pool I would be disappointed if I had to swim indoors. I visited in January 2018 on two consecutive days. The first day was in the 40s and the second day was in the 20s. The outdoor heated pool was open (on the colder day they uncovered only six of the 22 lanes) and the hardy lifeguards were on deck in full winter gear while we swam. It can be a brisk, breezy walk from the main building to the outdoor pool deck but the water was warm enough and it's a great pool with gutters flush at the sides of the pool. In colder weather I recommend wearing flip flops and bringing a towel and/or coat for covering up quickly once you get out; you may hang these on the fencing surrounding the pool. There is a team that practices here year round (and they were practicing the first day I visited) but I think they always have a few lanes open for other swimmers.
