Important Notice Please Read

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times or when Senior Aerobics classes are held; we cannot tell you about the availability or cost of swimming lessons; we cannot get you discounted admission to swim at any of them; and we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their admission policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites and Facebook pages, clickable email addresses, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in the site is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editor becomes aware of a change, but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about seven years to complete; in many places, prices will change four or five times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. (No, it's not a place for you to ask us questions. What we have in each listing is the latest news we have.)

Also, please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with the area and visiting for the first time. Just go to the Add a Pool section of the site, read the first page, then fill out the questionnaire.

Facility Notes

The entire pool is 65m in length and has two bulkheads or booms that allow it to be set up with a variety of configurations. The pool operates with 50m lanes from 6 to 8:45 AM; for most of the rest of the day, it's set up with eight, 25m lanes in the center, the diving section (for exercise or swimming), and a section for instruction and/or exercise. For the late afternoon lane swims, the lanes are often set up across the 18m width. In summer, the afternoon lane swims take place in the diving (deep) section of the pool; from September to June four lanes are set up in the middle section of the pool at 1.5m depth.

Facility Reviews

More a public pool (i.e., for families) than a pool for lap swimming. The water is warm and there are lots of kids during public swimming hours. Lap swimming is done in center lanes during certain hours, but the laps are short and the pool is very shallow at this area. General public swimming hours are fun - diving boards, two water slides, Tarzan ropes, water toys, etc.
I disagree with the comment that "the laps are short and the pool is very shallow at this area". The laps are 18m. That's 72% of normal, so it's not so short in my book. (I also found the shorter lanes more comfortable as I returned to swimming after a long hiatus.) More importantly, the pool is not "very shallow". At 1.5m depth, it's plenty deep enough. The late afternoon is a busy time with children's classes in the shallow end and dive teams working in the deep end. That said, there are usually no more than three swimmers per lane on average and it would be unusual to have five - often there are just two.

The pool has it hours listed on the website ("website", above), and opens at 6 AM each weekday for lap swim. There are at least four lanes open (two for slow, one for medium and one for fast). It is a 65m pool with bulkheads as described, and the pool is 50m for the morning swims. The pool is quieter on Wednesdays and Fridays than other days, and it is also quieter after 7 AM than before. It is a “real pool” in terms of lap swim, not a “family pool”. The downside is that people other than those in the fast lane don’t have a concept of how to swim with other people and don’t abide by “lane etiquette”. It is a nice pool though, clean, nice lifeguards. Admission is $4.75 for one swim, with free parking.
