Facility Notes
The pool was originally an outdoor pool and gymnasium. From the 20s to the mid-50s, it was managed by Tom Donnet. During the Great Depression it was used as a depot for helping those in need of food and clothing. Renovations took place in the 1930s, when the facility received its first update and a domed roof installed. For many years Richmond was the only indoor training facility available in Australia with diving boards and a full-sized swimming pool. It was last renovated in 2002.
Facility Reviews
Among the best aquatic facilities in Australia. Built in the '30s it has an Art Deco feel and vast domed roof.
Superb! Put this on your list next time you visit Melbourne.
A great pool and it's near a popular shopping area.
Beautiful stylish industrial feel to the pool.
A great place to get fit, with a well equipped gymnasium, too.
