Facility Notes
We tried to get information about the NYAC back when we were publishing the book, and hit a brick wall at every approach. This is one exclusive club and hotel. If you're not already a member of the NYAC or of a club which has reciprocal arrangements with the NYAC, calling them will get you absolutely nowhere. We list it here only to save you time and telephone charges.
Facility Reviews
No gutters… no markings on the walls to aid in making the flip turns required by the lack of gutters... mediocre.
Rating: 4 on a scale of 10. Exclusive but a terrible swim. Swim here only if there's nowhere else.
One of the best pools in NYC: clean, at least 80ºF., not busy (I almost always get my own lane), and deep. There are markings on the pool bottom and enormous banners hanging overhead five yards from the walls. On the downside, the hours are skimpy and it's expensive (even for members.)
