Facility Notes
From the centre's website:
"Balaam Leisure Centre has been closed since December, 2018, following the discovery of a serious water leak through the concrete pool tank, which also forms the ceiling of the basement gym. This made the structure unsafe and the council was forced to close the centre.
"The structure has now undergone specialist testing and the results have been received and evaluated. These results have been used to develop a range of options for the future of the centre, and now the council wants residents and users to give their views on what should happen next."
A decision on what to do with the centre was to have been made and announced in February but the council has decided to defer the decision to further consider the options.
Given that the building site is slated for re-utilization to housing purposes in 2028/2029 and that it will take two years to complete the necessary repairs, we'd put our bets on a decision to do nothing, effectively closing the pool permanently.

Facility Reviews
This pool is very shallow at the ends, making tumble turns rather tricky. The only time I went there were three lanes; one, however, was privately hired. The water was a bit warm.
