Facility Reviews
Parap Pool is clean and has well maintained change rooms, shade cloth at one end, anti-wave lane ropes, and, if you ask the pool attendant nicely, you can even borrow some training aids. It is nice to swim and hear the birds among the palm trees of amorning.
Rating: 8 on a scale of 10. The water is cool through winter but warms up dramatically in the summer wet season.
This is an excellent lap pool! There are two pools at this complex, both of which were clean, heated, and well maintained. The 50m pool is saltwater and great for laps. In the mornings, there were only one or two people per lane. There’s also a massive permanent shade structure over the entire complex so, even though you get to enjoy swimming outdoors, you’re not being burnt by the Australian sun. The locker rooms are also clean and well maintained. The lockers are apparently free to use (though most people just keep their things on the pool deck) - you just get a key from the front desk.
For those without a car, Bus #6 stops right in front of the pool, which makes it really easy to access from the central/tourist part of Darwin.
