Facility Reviews
For India, BAC is a really excellent swimming facility, considered by many as the cradle of Indian Swimming. It’s definitely not an Expat swimming centre (outdoors, no gym, basic facilities etc), but it IS a well renowned within India, and has producedmany Indian swimmer of impressive caliber. The changing facilities leave a little to be desired. Overall, if you are a swimmer, and you come for the swimming, it’s excellent – you’ll be greeted like an old friend within a few days / weeks.
The teaching is good and comprehensive. There are swimming courses run in the Indian school summer holidays as well. And there are quite a few public sessions.
Junior water polo teams train on Sunday evenings, and are always looking for experienced players to help out and bring new techniques. They are in need of simple equipment, so, if you can, bring some hats, gum shields, etc. to help out. The Elite swim squad for national standard swimmers train daily from 5 AM, by invitation only.
