Facility Reviews
The Prince Alfred Park Pool near Central Station re-opened on 13th May 2013 after complete reconstruction. The pool and its surrounds are really good. The City of Sydney is providing free admission for the first 6 months, I guess this is some kind of apology to the public for the pool being closed so much longer than was planned. The pool is heated and was about 26º - 27º C. when I swam in it this morning. Lighting towers are really good, I think they are LED lights, very bright before sunrise. Change rooms are good, everything is very new and clean.

Rating: 9 on a scale of 10. One point deducted because the new changing rooms will be tight when heavily used. Beautiful grounds. It's nice to welcome a once-tired pool back to top flight use.

Rating: 9 on a scale of 10 (still). Just an ongoingly great place to swim laps, winter or summer. It's in a beautiful setting. There are some really good swimmers. The lanes are speed segregated. It can be busy after work, but at other times of the day you’ll be the only person in your lane.
