Important Notice Please Read

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times or when Senior Aerobics classes are held; we cannot tell you about the availability or cost of swimming lessons; we cannot get you discounted admission to swim at any of them; and we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their admission policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites and Facebook pages, clickable email addresses, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in the site is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editor becomes aware of a change, but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about seven years to complete; in many places, prices will change four or five times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. (No, it's not a place for you to ask us questions. What we have in each listing is the latest news we have.)

Also, please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with the area and visiting for the first time. Just go to the Add a Pool section of the site, read the first page, then fill out the questionnaire.

There are also two, 25m x 13m, unstriped, 20ºC (68ºF), outdoor pools, one 0.7m deep, the other 0.9m deep. Further information about them can be found at Bellahøj Friluftsbad.

Facility Reviews

The staff are remarkably friendly and helpful. The least crowded times are weekdays, late morning to 4 PM. The clubs arrive at 4 PM, reducing the number of lanes available. The walls of the main hall are covered with noise-dampening metal plates, which improve the acoustics.
Danish pools generally maintain very high hygiene standards. Bellahøj is a sad exception. Many users ignore shower rules, and the staff turn a blind eye. As a result, this is probably the dirtiest pool in the country.
Indeed, the hygiene standards at this pool are very low.

I can´t relate to the unhygienic reviews regarding this pool. The staff is very keen on "helping" swimmers to remember to shower (at least in the men's department). The pool looks very clean also ...

This is a great pool, filled with light. Signs show It to be the training facility for the national team, who have their own lockers reserved. There is a 70ºC (158ºF) sauna.

I found the pool very clean and there are signs in the shower area to wash yourself beforehand, as usual in Denmark.

All entry payments are cashless: Visa/Dankort and mobile pay are accepted at the pool. It may be easier to buy ticket online ahead of time to avoid problems with the automated vending machines on-site.

This is easily the best of the several pools I visited in Copenhagen. The complex is quite large and includes multiple indoor and outdoor pools, including a great 50m indoor lap pool.

Like other pools in Copenhagen, there is no front desk, just a machine where you easily buy a swim pass (credit cards accepted) and get a wristband. You head down the stairs to the locker rooms and choose a PIN code on the machine to use one of the free lockers. You’re required to shower naked before putting on your swimsuit, and everyone seemed to comply. I wonder if the place was renovated after some of the previous reviews, because the entire complex, from the locker rooms to the sauna to the pools, was really clean and well maintained.

The 50m pool was on the cooler side, but still comfortable. Unfortunately, there was no designation of lanes based on speed, though the faster swimmers tended to swim in the middle lanes.

If I lived in Copenhagen, this would definitely be the pool that I swam at. Such a great atmosphere and place to swim!

One thing to note—the 50m pool is occasionally closed for cleaning or swim team practice (the schedule is available on the website). The outdoor 25m pool is open during this time for laps, but unfortunately, it’s not heated and is uncomfortably cold even during the summertime.
