Facility Reviews
The pool has an adjoining waterfall and wading areas on either side. The depth runs from 1.4m at the walls and quickly drops off a ledge to about 4m in the middle. Towels provided. Pool hours are 7 AM to 7 PM. There are no stripes or targets, but there are two lane lines that create 3 very wide, 33m lanes. Presumably lap swimming is ‘inside the lines’. Pool is all black tile with an infinity edge; it's reasonably easy to sight down the grout lines but, in addition to the ropes, there is a convenient line of hydrostatic valves on the bottom that make a perfectly good stripe to keep you straight. No one goes down to the pool until the sun is up above the buildings, about 8:30 AM in January, and even then they don’t necessarily get in the water - I had the place to myself from 7 to 9 AM every day I was there. There are strolling peacocks all about the place, which is interesting (watch where you step). The water temperature in January was very nice, about 82º F., I was surprised that with the black bottom it wasn’t a lot warmer. I bet it’s a lot hotter in July! The resort itself is comfortable, but it is a bit tired. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Orchard Street and Asia in general and get some laps in, this is a good layover but it isn’t posh. Lots of families on the weekend, and mostly business types attending conferences and workshops during the week.
